Service Description

Finding a better balance not because you need to - you are already an awesome parent - but because you want to. Learn more about putting your own needs first (occasionally) and understand how/why you may feel certain ways. Parenting a SEND child impacts on every part of our worlds and can affect our own mindset. Giving ourself the kindness and grace to appreciate that is not our fault is a good start! Did you know that if you are sleep deprived there are actual physical symptoms that happen to our bodies that no matter how great of a parent you are you cannot control; Lack of sleep can cause difficulties with memory, decision making, attention, emotional regulation, stress, anxiety, chronic stress (and all the symptoms that accompany this), hormone disruptions, personality changes (long term and short term) and the bodies inability to digest any insulin the day after a sleepless night. This is just one strand (among many) that can impact how we feel and our own emotional regulation (and patience levels) when parenting our neuro-diverse children. How about if you too are neuro - divergent and only just learning about this? This can come with emotional regulation difficulties that are not your fault too. If you are a female over the age of 40, throw in perimenopause and I can assure you if you didn't have troubles before - you likely will now! This session is to explore you and what you need. How you can find slices of time to consider your own well-being and where to start? This session goes beyond the normal advice of eat healthy and exercise and offers bespoke suggestions (and an accountability partner) in starting from our basic needs and working upwards (because in our worlds, basic needs being met are hard to come by!) This session is 1.5 hours via zoom, with Katie (you can choose telephone instead if you prefer).


Cancellation Policy

We pride ourselves on being non judgemental and neurodiverse friendly. You are welcome to come along to all online meetings with children in the background or with you. Please be aware of difficult topics that can occur therefore, if children are present, headphones may be your preference. We understand how each day can change unexpectedly when parenting neuro diverse children. We try and accommodate last minute changes as much as possible. For any reason you need to reschedule then 24 hours notice is required. This will ensure that you do not lose your payment and will either be offered a full refund or to re-book your session. If you cancel with less notice unfortunately you will need to rebook and make payment again. Obviously, if I ever need to cancel (unlikely but not impossible) then you'd be offered a full refund regardless. Please email me; support@send-parenting-balance.com to reschedule your appointment.
